I felt it was time I fixed the water damaged parquet (I hate parquet) floor in our study and so I purchased 6 cartons (16 pcs per ctn) of homogeneous floor tiles from Kimgress Sale (25% discount) on October 16th but spent most of the past two weeks leveling the damaged area of our study. I only worked on it for about 10 hours in all. I had earlier thought about laminated flooring but it would cost over RM700 and that's just material cost. The tiles only cost RM216 and I hope I can pull this off. The tiles weighed over 130 kg and it was a quite a task pushing the hand truck to the lift and into our home in one go.
Today I got hold of a tile cutter and began cutting the tiles to fit into the 'odd-sized' edges. I was well pleased the cutting went well as I have never done this kind of DIY before.
