We entered the HotWheels Collect & Win Contest in July and won the Grand Prize of RM250 worth of a playset and 25 HotWheels basic cars. I collected the prizes today. Nic is going to love this!

It Has Been Two Weeks?
The crusts on Nic's face has dropped off and the redness is lighter now. We went to 1U today and after lunch I picked out a couple of long-sleeved tees for Nicole at Jusco. Next she goes on her routine of playing with the toys.

What happened next was unusual. She normally does not insist on buying stuff (even Barbie dolls) but today is a first. Not only is it strange but her choice was even stranger. She asked for a Hot Wheels Color Blaster (pic) play set.
The novelty is that the car changes color when you dunk it in ice cold water and reverts back if dunked in warm water. I do not encourage her to play with boyish toys but she seems to be attracted to them.

New Toy
Mum came home from work with a surprise for Nic. It was a RC 4WD car from Kak Yati (who has never met Nic yet) who operates a restaurant in Shah Alam near mum's office.
It has red, white and blue flashing lights and plays several songs. It also bumps up and down. Something tells me this is gonna be a pain.

Shopping at Tesco
We decided to shop at Tesco today instead of the usual Giant's. I find that Tesco has good offers on disposable diapers and Nicole's milk powder. Without any idea if these items were actually on offer we were taking a chance.
The place was crowded as is any mall or shopping center on weekends. As usual I had to watch over Nic at the toys area while Sue went shopping. Nic spent almost an hour playing with whatever she could get her hands on. This time she got interested in playing 'cooking' probably from watching so much Asian Food Channel on cable tv. At the end she asked me to buy her the microwave and cash register to which I said no. They cost RM49.90 (USD13.96) each and that's a lot of dosh in these trying times. I managed to persuade her to go for a multi piece kitchen play set (pic) that cost a mere RM5.90 (USD1.65). This will entertain her for a week or two I suppose. And oh yeah, she has been "cooking" for us all day. Could she be becoming more feminine?
We finally caught up with mom who by now has a cart full of groceries. It was a right decision to shop here as Huggies diapers cost only RM35.95 (USD10.06) a pack (got 3 packs) compared to the usual price of around RM48.00.

Birthday Dinner for Susan @ Peranakan, 1U

Mandy treated us (Sherry & family too) to nyonya fare at the Peranakan Place (check out this blog as I am lousy at food reviews) restaurant in 1U last night. I think we were the only non-Muslims there eating away while the rest had to break fast at about 7.20pm by which time we were enjoying our desserts.
Nicole used her charm to get Sammie to buy her a cute backpack, wallet and flashing light rubber ball.

After dinner we went our separate ways and we headed to Jusco to get Nic the Barbie "Braid It" doll she has been craving for for months. As usual we spent over an hour there as Nic went about her routine of "inspecting" the toys.
Note: I have been helping her braid both her hair and the doll's since last night. Why not ask mum, why me? I have a hard time tying up hair with those tiny rubber bands.

Littlest Pet Shop
Nic got a gift from Yee Poh today. Its a rather cute cat from Hasbro's Littlest Pet Shop range. She has taken to it enthusiastically and has relegated her long-time fave puppy given by Mama nicknamed Wigano (below).
