Overall Nicole likes it at Grace kindergarten. She commented that the toilets were cleaner and I can certainly vouch for her as I have seen (smelled) the previous kindy's. Being a Christian-run kindy of course the kids would be exposed to Christianity in some way. For starters the children say grace before meals and it goes something like this,
"Thank you Lord for the world so sweet, dum dee dum
Thank you Lord for the food we eat, yum-yum.
Bless the food into our bodies. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen!"
Nicole demonstrated the prayer to us and she said all the kids would bang their fists on the table on saying Amen! Now that is gusto! I googled and found the original prayer goes like this,
Thank you for the world so sweet,
Thank you for the food we eat,
Thank you for the birds that sing,
Thank you, God, for everything.
Nic came home on Thursday with some Mandarin homework but we could not help her. So I wrote a note and stuck it on her work book to explain. She said her teacher gave her a one-on-one lesson the next day.
Lastly the kids get real workbooks unlike the previous joint where they'd get a xerox copy stapled to resemble a book. Mind you, the fee was even higher at the old place.
